We have just launched our new website and we couldn't have chosen a better theme than the one we have in the middle of the month of March.
In this post we leave you the calendar of Fallas events (below).
Home
The failures start on the last Sunday in February, with the proclamation starting at Serranos Towers, This proclamation is known as the crida, all the falleros and falleras (and valencianos and valencianas!) get together to start the festivities with an afternoon full of joy.
From this moment on, the palpable Fallas events begin, mascletás at noon, mascletás night parades, parades, marching bands, parade of the ninot... and in the week of 15 to 19 February is the peak of the Fallas festivities.
On the evening of 15 March, the plantá of all adult failures.
In Valencia there are more than 350 casales falleros, and each casal plants 2 fallas, one for children and one for the adult commission, both (and all of them, more than 700) will be burnt on the night of the 19th March, the day of Saint Joseph, patron saint of carpenters.
The festivities as such began to take shape in 1920, but the tradition of burning a bonfire dates back much earlier.
In the 17th century, the carpenters' workshops took out the old junk that was no longer useful and set fire to it, a way of letting go of the past to start a new year.
If you want to know more about it, know all the events that take place in this period, the meanings of each thing, don't miss our Fallas Tour, We will also enter through a fault line.
