Valencia's musical tradition: local talent and the impetus of the FAR Festival

Valencia is a city that is not only lived... it is also listened to. Its connection with music goes far beyond entertainment: it is identity, education, community and heritage. And in the 21st century, this passion is reinvented in new spaces such as the FAR Festival, a new cultural proposal to make the city vibrate this summer.

Valencia: a city where music is part of its DNA

The Valencian Community has the highest number of musical societies per inhabitant in Europe. Practically every town has at least one band, a music school and a full schedule of rehearsals, concerts and festivals.

More from 40,000 active musicians and more than 550 musical societies make music present in every street, at every party and in every generation. Here, playing an instrument is as common as playing football.

From the Fallas to the pilgrimages, from contemporary music festivals to opera cycles, Valencia breathes musical culture in every corner.

A cultural network with social impact

Music in Valencia is not only an artistic expression, but also a driving force for social cohesion. Bands are spaces for intergenerational inclusion, they energise neighbourhoods and help preserve traditions while exploring new forms of creation.

Moreover, this strong cultural structure has allowed festivals of enormous quality and diversity to emerge, from jazz and classic to rock, pop, electronics o alternative music.

The FAR Festival: the new great music season of the Valencian summer

It is in this context that FAR València, a new series of concerts celebrating its first edition from 9 to 31 July 2025. It will take place in a privileged environment such as the Marina Norte de Valencia, by the sea and in the midst of the summer effervescence.
